We Did it "Our Way"! Personalize Your Wedding!

Do you feel as if all weddings look the same?  Ready to plan something different for your wedding?  Before too many decisions are made, take some time to reflect on your favorite colors, hobbies, travels, or family history and incorporate a few personal elements into your wedding.  You can "have it your way" and create many poignant and memorable moments for you and your wedding guests.

Bride Ciara selected red and gray as the color scheme for her wedding to Adam.  To add a personal twist on the traditional white wedding dress for the bride, Ciara wore a 1950's inspired vibrant red dress.

Ciara had her wedding dress custom made to meet her desire for a red 1950's inspired "party" dress.  The dress was styled after a Melissa Sweet gown that Ciara saw in a magazine and found in a bridal store in Seattle.  The $6,000 price tag was not in her budget, so she found a seamstress and recreated her dream gown to her exact specifications.

Why red?  There were many compelling reasons for Ciara to select red as the color of her wedding gown.  Simply, Ciara states, "I look good in red, and I'm not a fan of anything white except for snow!"  That being said there is a bit of family history incorporated into the red wedding dress selection.  Ciara's mother color coded her four small children to help keep track of their things and, of course, Ciara's color was red.  How could she wear anything but red on her wedding day!

The red and gray color scheme included a gray suit for Adam with a red tie and gray with red accents for the wedding party.

The wedding took place on a very hot and sunny 104 degree Spokane day in beautiful Manito Park.  The Duncan Garden and the Japanese Garden were backdrops for many of the wedding day photos.

"It's my (our) day" continued into the reception where Ciara and Adam selected "pie as wedding cake" for their traditional cutting ceremony.

So often a groom can feel left out of the wedding planning process, but not Adam.  Ciara added something special for Adam on their wedding day as the couple made their wedding get away on Adam's motorcycle.

Looking back I'm sure Ciara and Adam's family and wedding guests wouldn't have had it any other way!  Their personal and unique wedding created a lifetime of memories and some really great photos!
