"Everything but the Kitchen Sink", a 1950's Inspired Wedding Shower

Remember the 1950's, "the good old days" when housewives wore aprons and hung their laundry on a clothesline outside? Think back to those TV housewives of the 1950's--Donna Reed, June Cleaver, Harriet Nelson.  They spent their days in the kitchen and always wore an apron!

"Leave the laundry on the line, the dishes can wait. Come and help the soon-to-be homemaker celebrate"  reads the stylish housewife on the invitation.  I recently attended this fun and nostalgic "1950's Kitchen" themed bridal shower to honor bride-to-be, Kylee.

The guests were greeted by aprons hanging on the clothesline. . . .

                                      . . . . along with a few other things!
The aprons were designed and sewn by Mother-of-the-Bride, Kim, and were the prizes for a fun-filled afternoon of party games, including designing a wedding gown out of toilet paper. (a very appropriate game I might add for this group of Barlow Fashion Marketing grads!)
The 2nd place wedding dress designed by "Team Chelsea"!

The wedding dress design competition was tough with "Team Monika" announced as winners!

Many thanks to Mother-of-the-Bride, Kim, my "guest blogger", and the creative genius for this fun bridal shower theme.  The afternoon continued with trivia games and a rolling pin for a shower gift, everything a bride-to-be would need to make her kitchen complete!
